Adopt

Adopting with Springer Rescue of Ontario

The adoption approval process:

Applicant completes and submits application form (click here for application)

  1. SRO contacts applicant and conducts telephone interview with applicant.
  2. SRO arranges for a home visit to be completed.
  3. Applicant is advised of approval for adoption. All the information gathered from the first 3 steps of this process will be used to determine suitability. We will notify applicants as quickly as possible once the home visit has been done, and the reports have been submitted to the board. This process could take up to 7 to 10 days depending on availability of board members to review and approve the applicants.

Once approved, SRO will work with the applicant to find a suitable dog. If the applicant has expressed an interest in one of our dogs, SRO will first determine if this applicant is a good match for the dog. If SRO deems that it is not a good fit, then they will work with the applicant to find an appropriate dog for their home. SRO Case Managers reserve the right to determine suitability of the applicant with respect to the dogs in our care.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please feel free to email them to                   adopt @ srontario.org or use the Quick Contact form at the side of this page.
